The BTC-Alpha exchange was attacked by hackers. User funds are safe

The British exchange with Ukrainian roots BTC-Alpha has been subjected to a hacker attack. The encrypted passwords of the users have been compromised, but the funds are not affected. This was stated by the CEO of the exchange Vitaly Bodnar.

According to him, hackers discovered a “certain gap” in the system and carried out a DDoS attack.

“User balances are completely safe, we have not lost a single cent, but the hash of user passwords has been compromised. For this reason, access to accounts is temporarily restricted,” Bodnar said.

He added that the hackers promised to leak the source code of the trading platform on GitHub.

Recall that in August, the Seychelles-based cryptocurrency exchange Bilaxy reported the hacking of hot wallets. The company did not disclose the amount of damage.
